I'm Laura Heyer, a professional dog trainer serving Northern and Western Fairfax County, Virginia.

Individualized Plans: You and your dog deserve a tailored and focused plan. I craft plans based on your dog, your life and your long-term goals.

Team Oriented: Whether it’s basic puppy life skills or helping your dog be less reactive on walks, I believe in teaching both ends of the leash. I am happy to coordinate with veterinarians, dog walkers, pet sitters where appropriate.

Ethical: I won’t make promises about behavior. No one can make guarantees about another living being. But I will promise to support you and your dog through your learning journey.

Animal Friendly: I am a force free trainer. That doesn’t mean I believe that whatever your dog wants to do is okay, but it does mean I don’t rely on fear or discomfort to help your dog learn.

Certified: Dog training is currently unregulated. Anyone can call themselves a trainer. I am a KPA Certified Professional Dog trainer, a Tellington TTouch practitioner, A Certified Separation Anxiety Pro Trainer and even a licensed teacher!

Humor: Learning is too important to be serious all the time. I want to help you and your dog have fun while learning new skills!
